Podu land distribution to begin this month: Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao

HYDERABAD: In the most significant announcement, Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao stated in the assembly that a government survey estimated 11.50 lakh acres of Podu land and the distribution will begin this month itself after village-level all party meetings.
Everyone involved must give undertakings that there will be no more claims on Podu land after this distribution, he said.
He slammed the opposition parties, saying the issue has become a "toy" for some of them. He asserted that the demand for Podu land is not really justified, but the government is considerate enough to distribute the land pattas.
The chief minister also said there has to be a balance between tribal rights, forest preservation and forest officials.
